Entering your senior year can be very exciting, you get to see and do things you never were able to do when you were an underclassman. You also have responsibilities like senior meetings and trying to make it to special events that’s important that you must make it to. However, graduating Juniors don’t get the same privileges as seniors. Seniors get way more privileges than Graduating Juniors. Seniors get to leave school early, they get to take senior pictures early and they get have their very own pictures in the yearbook. You also have a special place to park instead of parking in the dirt parking lot with the rest of the underclassmen. While seniors are granted privileges, graduating juniors, who are academically equivalent to seniors, aren’t always given the same treatment. Graduating juniors don’t get the chance to take senior pictures or leave school early. Being classified as a graduating junior comes with a lot of responsibility, such as taking classes online during the summer as well as taking classes online during the school year on top of a 7-class schedule. As graduating Juniors, most feel that they should be able to enjoy their last year and get the same privileges as seniors do. When spoken to Cayla Nunez she responded, “I feel like in a way it’s kind of fair because we aren’t seniors but in some way, we should get some of the same privileges, but at the same time , we still make it to every senior meeting and we still get to participate in most events going on with the seniors, so I still feel as if I’m a senior but I just feel as if we should get some of the same privileges because we really earned and worked hard to be where we are at.” Tiauna Johnson was also spoken to and her response was ” I feel like we should get the same privileges, we work hard for them, I’m just happy to be graduating this year but I’ll know my hard work will be paid off once I finally walk on that stage to get my diploma”.  Being a graduating junior can make you feel like you’re missing out on a lot of things, but the seniors at North Augusta will still treat you like you’re one of them.
