This past Friday night, at North Augusta High School Gymnasium, the boys and girls Yellow Jackets were looking to protect their home court and continue their stellar seasons against visiting opponent, Airport High School. The scheduled time for tip off for the Lady Jackets was 6:30 p.m., with the Boy Jackets immediately following them at 7:30 for tip off. The girls came out fast and early, firing on all cylinders, and connecting on most of their shots as usual.

Dating back to last season and so far, this season, the Lady Jackets have just looked completely in control from the jump ball and have been winning every game by a large margin. Furthermore, it just seems there is no match nor competition for the offensive and defensive firepower of the Lady Jackets. Going into halftime, the Lady Jackets already owned a big lead, did not look back, and cruised to the finish line as usual. The Lady Jackets got yet another great effort from their three stars, Tyliah Burns, Sarah Crews, and Amari Young leading the way. So many times, that has been the norm for this team. Concluding that game, next up was the Boy Jackets facing up against the boys from Airport High School. The first quarter wasn’t really much offensive and a bunch of missed shots, resulting in North Augusta having an eight-point advantage after the first, leading thirteen to five.

In the second quarter, both offensives picked up with both teams scoring over fifteen points in that period. The Boy Jackets took a two-point lead into the break, up twenty-nine to twenty-seven. The Boy Jackets came out strong in the third quarter finishing the quarter ahead eight points heading into the final period with the score being forty-three to thirty-five. Good things continued for the boys in the final quarter as they continued their dominance pulling away and winning the game by double digits. The final score was sixty-six to fifty in favor of the Boy Jackets. The boys got great efforts from their stars, Tez Collins, Bryson Mozone, Omarion Byrd, and RJ. Wins for both squads improved the boys’ record to an impressive twelve wins and four losses on the seasons, and the girls’ record to an outstanding twelve wins and only one loss.
