Same story, different place, but this time Brett Favre played on the field that he called home for 16 seasons. That didn’t seem to matter as Favre threw four TD passes and 244 yards. Asked by the AP on the significance of the game Favre said, “Packer fans cheer for the Packers first,” Favre said. “I know that. But I hope that everyone in the stadium watching tonight said, ‘I sure hate those jokers on the other side, but he does play the way he’s always played.’ ”

Frustration and disappointment mounts for Packer fans, who wanted to get even at the defected-40-year-old after they lost to the Vikings in Minnesota.

The Vikings got a spark early when Percy Harvin returned a kick for 77 yards to the Green Bay 14 yard line. Adrian Peterson drove the ball in for a 1-yard TD run and after that, it was Vikings football. On the Vikings’ next drive, Brett Favre drove down the field and completed 6 of 6 passes and a 12-yard TD for TE Visanthe Shiancoe.

“What I’ve done here speaks for itself,” Favre said. “What I was part of was awesome. That will never change.”

Receiver Percy Harvin also had a spectacular game returning and receiving the ball. He returned kicks for a total of 175 yards and he caught 5 passes for 84 yards. With Favre throwing his way and his explosive speed, Harvin and Farve made it a long game for the Packers secondary, again.

“He’s played this game a long time, he sees a lot of stuff that a lot of quarterbacks can’t see,” Harvin said. “And he can make a lot of throws that a lot of quarterbacks can’t make. With us being explosive, to add him was like a blessing in disguise.”

The Packers had come close to making a comeback, but they couldn’t close the gap. It was another disappointing loss for the Packers, who dropped to 4-3 for the season. Aaron Rodgers had a terrible day, but still managed to put up good numbers. He was 26 of 41 for 287 yards and 3 TDs, but the Vikings got in the backfield and made Rodgers’ day a nightmare.
“I’ll be OK in a couple of days,” Rodgers said. “This one will hurt for a couple of days, though, physically and mentally.”
