Homecoming Queen Candidate Interviews

We caught up with the Homecoming candidates for a quick interview questionnaire.  Here are some of the highlights:

Kayla Davis
How did you feel when you found out that you had been nominated for Homecoming Queen?
I was really surprised but also excited and glad that my class had nominated me. It made me feel honored that people felt I should represent my class as a Homecoming Candidate.
What qualities do you posses that make you a good candidate for HQ? I try to be a happy and kind person to everyone. I always make an effort to be helpful and make a difference in the lives of the people I encounter.

Tahirah Jackson
What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?
In my spare time I love to read, get on the computer, and cheer. I also love to dance, listen to music, and take naps.
If you win homecoming what will you do?
If I won homecoming I would be really excited. I would be extremely happy the student body chose me to represent the school and I would do everything I could to uphold that honor.

Kay Meyer
What is your best trait?
I have no idea!
If you win homecoming what will you do?
I would be very shocked if I won, but I would be very grateful. However, there are a lot of very good candidates who deserve to win, so I am definitely not expecting to win.

Lindsay Garrick
How did you feel when you found out that you had been nominated for Homecoming Queen?
I was very excited and relieved because ever since I was a freshman, I wanted to be on homecoming court.
What qualities do you posses that make you a good candidate for HQ?
I am respected in my class. I also believe I’m very involved with the school. Homecoming queens should be respected and involved.

Emily White
What is your best trait?
My best trait is that I am a leader. In any situation. I take charge and get the job done. My 10th grade year, I founded a lunch bible study (5-2 Break) because I felt our school needed a place for people with common Christian interests to meet and discuss ideas.
What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, which I rarely have between school and work, I enjoy practicing photography. I am currently the photography editor of Sandspurs and recently decided to major in photography in college. Not only do I enjoy taking pictures, but I am investing time in my future career.

Candace Chavous
What is your best trait?
My best trait is my personality because I like to be in a good and positive mood all the time. I want to set examples to the ones that watch or admire me.
What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I like to relax, hang out with family and friends and have a good time.

Shaneca Simmons
How did you feel when you found out that you had been nominated for Homecoming Queen?
I was shocked. I was overcome with feelings of excitement and surprise.
What qualities do you posses that make you a good candidate for HQ?
I am personable and sociable. I enjoy people, and I am approachable. I have exceptional character, morals, and values.

Rachel Riley
How did you feel when you found out that you had been nominated for Homecoming Queen?
I was really excited because I wasn’t expecting to be nominated by my senior classmates.
What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?
Hang out with friends, play tennis, ride around town, and go shopping.

Taylor Stacy
What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?
I like to be with family and friends and do church activities.
If you win homecoming what will you do?
I will be so surprised and excited!

Morgan Williams
How did you feel when you found out that you had been nominated for Homecoming Queen?
When I heard my name called on the intercom, I was overjoyed. For so long I’ve thought about running for Homecoming Queen and to be given the chance to represent the school is amazing.
If you win homecoming what will you do?
If I am honored with being North Augusta High School’s homecoming queen, I will do my best to show everyone what a positive role model is. I will continue to be respectful in order to be uplifting and an inspiration to others.

Taylor Perkins
What qualities do you possess that make you a good candidate for Homecoming Queen?
I am very outgoing and easy to get along with. I love being around other people and having a good time. I also have a lot of school spirit.
If you win homecoming what will you do?
Honestly, I would be shocked because I am running against a great group of girls. But I guess if I was to win, I would continue to set a good example to my fellow classmates.

Stacy Scaggs
How did you feel when you found out that you had been nominated for Homecoming Queen?
I was really happy and excited because I wasn’t expecting to be a candidate.
What is your best trait?
I go with the flow and I’m always smiling and laughing. I am also willing to help anybody if I can.

Kirby Norris
What qualities do you possess that make you a good candidate for Homecoming Queen?
I think I am a very kind and caring person. Those are qualities that a homecoming queen should have.
What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I like to play basketball, it is my favorite sport. I also enjoy babysitting because I love little kids.

Taylor Poss
What qualities do you possess that make you a good candidate for Homecoming Queen?
I am a nice, responsible girl, who makes good grades and tries her hardest to keep a positive outlook on life.
If you win homecoming what will you do?
There are so many great girls in Homecoming court, so if I won, I would feel much honored that people would vote for me among the sweet, beautiful candidates. If I won, I would continue to represent this great school, the way it should be represented.

Stephanie Rozier
How did you feel when you found out that you had been nominated for Homecoming Queen?
I felt honored when I found out I had been nominated for homecoming. There are so many beautiful, poised, young women in our class, and any of them would make a great Queen. I am very proud that my senior class would choose me to represent them.
What qualities do you possess that make you a good candidate for Homecoming Queen?
I am a very friendly, compassionate, and enthusiastic person. I feel these qualities are important for a good candidate for Homecoming Queen. .

Courtney Spires
How did you feel when you found out that you had been nominated for Homecoming Queen?
I felt honored that my classmates selected me to on court.
If you win homecoming what will you do?
Be very excited, and honor the position.

Bria McCain
What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?
I like to do hair in my spare time. I also like spending time with my niece, little sister and younger cousins.
If you win homecoming what will you do?
I will obtain all qualities of a homecoming queen and continue to make my parents, family, and peers proud.

Brittany Barbour
How did you feel when you found out that you had been nominated for Homecoming Queen?
I was really surprised and happy; I didn’t tell anybody to nominate me other than my two best friends.
What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?
Colorguard, hang out with my friends and family.

Tiara Perry
How did you feel when you found out that you had been nominated for Homecoming Queen?
When I found out I was nominated for homecoming queen I felt really happy and surprised because I really did not think I would get chosen.
What qualities do you possess that make you a good candidate for Homecoming Queen?
The qualities I have that would make me a good candidate for Homecoming Queen are that I try to be the best friend and person I can be. I do my best to be there for anyone who needs me or needs someone to talk too, and I am loyal.
