It was destiny. A crash course between the league’s best teams since week six of the season. The NFL couldn’t have asked for a better matchup between these two teams who have battled for the #1 power ranking throughout the season. Here are some moments that got these teams to Superbowl 44:

The Colts’ Best Moments

1. Colts D stops New England within inches on 4th down.
2. Monday Night vs. Miami, Peyton engineers game winning drive with a screen pass to Pierre Garcon.
3. Colts stay Undefeated by comeback win against the Texans.
4. Former Raven, Matt Stover kicks the winning field goal against his former team.
5. Colts comeback to win AFC Championship after trailing by 11

Saints’ Best Moments

1. Reggie Bush brings the wood to the Arizona Cardinals
2. Brees drives Saints 80 yards in 33 seconds to tie; Hartley’s OT kick wins it against Redskins…Robert Meachem’s big special teams play.
3.99 yd interception return for TD by Darren Sharper against Jets
4. Malcom Jenkins forced fumble against Philadelphia
5. Hartley kicks overtime field goal in NFC Championship and sends Saints to their first Superbowl.

Although the Saints have the NFL’s #1 offense the Colts have Peyton Manning, who has been in conversation as the greatest quarterback in NFL history. Both teams have a solid defense but the Colts pressure up front gives them the edge.

The question for the Saints is, will they be able to disrupt Peyton Manning in the pocket? The Jets failed to do that so they will be spending February 7th on the couch. If the Saints force 3rd and long situations by using the blitz it could be a long day for the Colts O-line.

The question for the Colts is, who will step up on offense and help Peyton Manning? Rookie reciever, Austin Collie, has been getting his share of looks from Manning throughout the playoffs. If the Manning gets into a rythem by using Dallas Clark and Austin Collie, it’ll open up the long ball for Reggie Wayne.

Prediction:
The Saints Superbowl inexperience will be proved on the field. The Saints offense will have its share of fireworks but in the end they’ll most likely be cursed by turnovers. The Colts defense should play solid enough to help their offense put points on the board. But in the end, who would bet against Peyton? Not me.
