The Jackets Have Been Stung: Changes for 2010-2011 School Year

Zack Rogers, a sophomore, stated that he isn’t nervous about teh upcoming changes because “last year’s principal was new to me too.” Many new changes and systems will be taking place this upcoming school year, and they are for the better.
North Augusta High School is known by students as a place for long announcements every single day, having to push people aside just to get to class because the hallways are so crowded, and last but not least, the lovely food fights. The year all of that is going to change, starting with hallways. Between classes, before and after school, 4th hall has a new system help alleviate congestion in the intersections. Students are not allowed to come in the double doors coming from 5th hall, only allowed to excit out of them. This means students have to walk outside of 4th hall and come in through the other double doors by Ms. M.A William’s room.
There’s still more! Rumor has it that on Early Release days, schedules will be different this year as well. Every other month, students will either be going to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th period, or going to 5th, 6th, and 7tth, and 4th period. By changing the Early Release schedule, this gives teachers more time to teach, and students more time to learn. Also, it is a rule in the Education system that schools have to feed their students, so going to 4th period is a must. This sounds great, right? But some seniors are not happy, espeically senior Haley Burleson, stating that “by having a new early release schedule, will mess up the senior schedules because of their early dismissal on a regular school day.”
Finally, at last! New announcements times are another change that has happened this year. Usually, annoucements come on before school, at end of 5th period, and after school. They all take at least 5 long minutes and to allow first period have more time to teach, annoucements have now been moved to third period instead! Sophomore Jennifer Grimm agrees that the announcement changes are a “good thing.”
The students seem to like the new changes that are taking place this year. Some of them will take some getting used to, like most new things. Overall, the changes that are happening are for the better, to change our school in the best way possible.

This is amazing.

That’s nice, sounds like the principal is doing great work good to see those changes happening. but, this guy need to crack down on {name deleted} and the baseball team and make them get a better reputation after last season with {name deleted} stupid incident.
It is the policy of the TYJ editorial staff to delete the names of faculty and staff who are disparaged specifically by name.
