The Quill is sponsored by Mrs. Creamer and its purpose is to create a greater awareness of creative writing in the community of North Augusta. The group plans on publishing the magazine four times a year, with the first issue tentatively coming out at the end of the first nine weeks, mid-October.
The published journals will be on display throughout the school, and various other community buildings such as the library, and the community center.
“There are too many people who are too creative for this not to get off the ground,” stated Mrs. Creamer.
The club is open to students willing to share their work, which can consist of creative writing, artwork, or any other type of fine art which is able to be published. However, self or peer editing outside of the meeting is encouraged, and subject matter needs to be acceptable for the school. “I don’t want to ‘hear he slit her throat pulled out her esophagus and ate it,’” Mrs. Creamer advised to the general amusement of those present.
Regardless of any small restrictions of subject matter, the club still provides a comfortable place to express yourself if you “like to write” like Kelsie Blocker (10), and Brittany Czapala (11), or you’re just looking for “a place to publish your work” like Jackson Redd (11).
The next meeting of The Painted Quill will occur on Thursday, October 1st in room 115. All writers and artists are wanted, and it is requested that you bring any work you wish to be published with you that day. There is no fee to join.

Jessica Kaczmarick(12) and Brittany Czapala(11).

Excellent. I wasn’t sure what the Painted Quill the announcements had been talking about was ’till now.
But anything that causes more people to read and write is fantastic news to me.
