In the United Kingdom, families and businesses are now being offered cash incentives if they go on a micro-power (renewable energy) grid. Britain (currently second-to-last among European Union countries when it comes to renewable energy) hopes that this will encourage this practice and make citizens more aware of their energy consumption.
